Welcome to Marine One
Why we built this platform, who it's for, and what's coming next.
If you sail — or you’re about to start — Marine One is for you.
This is the resource we wished we’d had. A structured platform built around maritime knowledge organised by system, by ship type, by competency — and kept current with the regulations that govern every watch.
What you’ll find here
Three things, integrated:
A community at discuss.marineone.org — every machinery system, every department, every rank. Moderated by working seafarers who know the subject. Cruise hospitality crew get a full section of their own.
Exam tracks at learn.marineone.org — from IMU-CET through MEO Class 1, with surveyor-pattern orals, function-wise drills, mock vivas, and an AI tutor that knows your syllabus.
A blog right here — for the in-between content: career guidance, regulatory updates, ship-type deep dives, life-at-sea essays.
Why we built this
Marine One is built by working seafarers who have been through the full career journey — cadet to senior officer — and understand what is genuinely needed at each stage. The platform is structured the way the industry works: by department, by vessel type, by certification level.
