FAQ
Questions, answered.
Eight things mariners ask before joining. If something's missing — write to us.
Q01 Who is Marine One for?
+
Who is Marine One for?
Any seafarer at any stage — engine, deck, or cruise hospitality; from a 17-year-old preparing for IMU-CET to a senior officer or hotel manager. Engineering tracks are live at launch; deck-side tracks (2nd Mate, Chief Mate, Master) and cruise hospitality tracks launch soon.
Q02 How is this different from YouTube or free WhatsApp groups?
+
How is this different from YouTube or free WhatsApp groups?
Free content is scattered and inconsistent. Marine One organises maritime knowledge the way it actually works at sea — by system, by ship type, by exam syllabus. The community is moderated by working seafarers, not random posters.
Q03 Is the content updated for the latest amendments (MARPOL, SOLAS, BWM)?
+
Is the content updated for the latest amendments (MARPOL, SOLAS, BWM)?
Yes. Regulatory content is reviewed against current MARPOL annexes, SOLAS amendments, IMO Tier III, EEDI/EEXI, CII, and Ballast Water Management Convention requirements.
Q04 Can I access content offline at sea?
+
Can I access content offline at sea?
The platform is web-based and works on any browser. You can install it on your phone as a Progressive Web App for faster access on slow ship connections. Heavy content (videos) needs connectivity; text and quizzes work even on weak signals.
Q05 How does the AI tutor work?
+
How does the AI tutor work?
Marine One uses Claude AI grounded in the platform's own machinery and exam content — so answers reference our material, not random web data. You can ask oral-style questions and get exam-relevant explanations any time, on any watch.
Q06 Do you cover Indian DG Shipping syllabus only, or international too?
+
Do you cover Indian DG Shipping syllabus only, or international too?
The exam tracks follow Indian DG Shipping / MMD syllabus (Function 3, 4, 5 for engineers; equivalent deck functions when those tracks launch). However, shipboard knowledge applies globally — anyone preparing for MCA, AMSA, USCG, or other flag state exams will find the technical content useful.
Q07 What's the refund policy?
+
What's the refund policy?
Community Access is non-refundable but a 7-day money-back guarantee applies if you find the platform isn't for you. Exam tracks include a 14-day refund window provided you haven't completed more than 20% of the course.
Q08 Will my purchase auto-renew?
+
Will my purchase auto-renew?
No. All tiers are one-time payments. Community Access is valid for 3 years. Exam tracks are valid for 2 years from purchase, enough time to clear two attempts.
